Actually, it's a circle with a dot, but there are other depictions of it as well from various cultures, though most of them are very similar, and almost all use the circle as the basis of the solar glyph. I think you're right though that it isn't a sun symbol, since the top is not a closed circle.
I think you're mostly right, though some of the bottom row seems to be alchemical, others are not, though probably have some similar meaning. maybe astrological? though I don't know that they are part of a specific alchemical or astrological symbol set that I know of.
thanks and some are specific alchemical. they're ancient alchemical symbols and a couple of the others may be linked to deities from different cultures. and i agree with you that some might be astrological. some look runic as well. and im getting my tattoo in a few days ^-^ i love your work, it's beautiful
I'm just waiting for the ink to dry. I'll be putting it up in a few moments. (I hope it's the right one. If not, I'll just have to do another ) It's the ninth one from the left in the second row. (Counting the three larger symbols as the first 'row'
From the way it feels and the times that I've seen it, I think it means 'Force of Will' or creative will in relation to the web of events and reality around onesself, specifically that of choosing one's own experiences and molding one's reality through will.
In the patterns on concrete, or the bark of trees, cracks in windows, stains on wood, swirls in sand or dirt, and in my mind's eye, just beyond the surface of things. The meaning has to do with the synchronicities surrounding the moment. There are some that repeat, but I have yet to define anything specific as to their meaning.
